Directors biography
André Phillips grew up in a small, diverse, working-class city outside of Boston. While art and writing (and for many years, kickboxing) had been a part of his life since childhood, André was introduced to filmmaking in high school and never turned back. Most of André's work is heavily focused on imbalances in socioeconomic opportunity and conflicts those imbalances cause. André is passionate to showcase those who are excluded from the wider conversation, while also celebrating and examining the resilience and grace it requires to make it on the edges.
