This afternoon will celebrate Charli with performances and reflections from a range of jazz luminaries who have worked with and/or been inspired by the great drummer and educator.

Join us as we celebrate the 90th birthday of a drumming legend, Charli Persip. His prolific career has brought him to all corners of the world playing with every musician you can think of including Harry "Sweets" Edison, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, Dizzy Gillespie, Lee Morgan, Eric Dolphy, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Sonny Rollins, Billy Eckstine, and everyone in between.
Unfortunately, in recent years, Charli Persip has been struggling with illness. Due to this, he has had to stop doing what he loves the most, performing and teaching. This has left him to fall on hard times financially due to medical bills.
We are reaching out to the jazz community at this time for any contributions towards Charli Persip medical fund.
