Description

Led by Glory Edim of Well-Read Black Girl, this edition of Storytelling Saturdays is an experiential workshop designed to introduce the concepts of self-care and wellness through literature.

Event Details

Participants will be guided through a literary meditation of Sister Love: The Letters of Audre Lorde and Pat Parker 1974–1989. Through group letter writing, meditation, and reviewing the foundations of self-preservation, attendees will collectively experience Audre Lorde and Pat Parker. Participants are encouraged to read this excerpt of Sister Love for this workshop: publicbooks.org/sister-love-letters-audre-lorde-pat-parker/

Throughout the run of Radical Reading Room at Studio Museum 127, drop by on the first and third Saturdays of each month to contribute your text to the community archive and discuss its personal and collective importance. Centering radical approaches to storytelling, programs in this series may take the form of writing workshops, zine-making workshops, or live oral histories led by members of our creative community.

This program is accessible by wheelchair and other forms of walking assistance.
