Description
Come out on Thanksgiving eve to help prepare a multi-faith meal at the Mandala Café. Join us in serving our community by prepping, serving, and cleaning up a community meal provided by local nonprofit Mandala Cafe.
Event Details
Sponsors of this meal include All Souls Episcopal Church, JCC Harlem, Sathya Sai Baba Community of Manhattan, Repair the World Harlem, and St Mary's of Manhattanville.
Mandala Cafe is a nonprofit committed to providing culinary training for those who are unemployed/underemployed, formerly homeless, formerly incarcerated, undocumented individuals and youth. Their weekly meal is distributed to community members with varying levels of food security.
This project will take place in two shifts. Please sign up for one of the following shifts:
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Volunteers will support in preparing the weekly meal and help package toiletry kits. We will have one shift for family's and one for the rest of the community. *Please note- All volunteers are invited to grab some food and eat with their neighbors. All volunteers should wear closed toes shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
