Description

Celebrate Mother's Day early and learn about the effects of meditation!

Event Details

We here at the Strand love our moms, and can't think of a better way to honor her than to give her the gift of some much needed rest and relaxation through meditation. In this free one-hour class, we will open with a knowledge session by discussing what actually happens to our mind, bodies, and emotions when we meditate. A meditation practice has the power to dissolve stress, and we will dive into the neurochemistry behind this phenomenon. What shifts can we expect to experience and what is the tangible impact that a meditation practice can have on our lives? There will be time for a robust Q&A and a 20 minute meditation session to close. At the conclusion of the class, you will have the option to sign up for a 4-day comprehensive training course to learn to meditate.

Join us on Saturday in the Rare Book Room as Kathy leads a class and meditation session!

In 2017, she moved to the Himalayas of northern India to live and train with masters from a 5,000 year-old meditation tradition. She now travels the country speaking about, and teaching people how to be self-sufficient meditators. When she is not teaching, she is running an essential oils company.
