Although Cyrano is in love with Roxane, he is convinced that his big nose and unattractive looks undermine his chances of being a contender to her heart. He therefore accepts to help his friend Christian woo her with poetry and eloquence. Denis Podalydès, well-known French actor on the big screen as well as in theater, directs for the first time in 2006 with this play, initially shown at the Salle Richelieu. Winner of six Molière Awards in 2007.

Cyrano est amoureux de Roxane, mais il n'ose pas lui révéler ses sentiments car il est trop complexé par son nez imposant. Malgré ses sentiments, il accepte d'aider son ami Christian à séduire Roxane grâce à des discours romantiques et éloquents qu'il lui souffle à l'oreille. Acteur au cinéma et au théâtre, Denis Podalydès endosse le rôle de metteur en scène avec cette pièce jouée pour la première fois en 2006 dans la Salle Richelieu. Gagnante de six Molières, cette version filmée est jouée avec brio par la troupe de la Comédie Française.
