The Center for Architecture, in partnership with the AIANY Diversity & Inclusion Committee, brings you CityPride, a series in honor of 2019 World Pride, taking place in New York City throughout the month of June.

June 17: Creating LGBTQ Spaces
New York City has a diverse range of buildings where LGBTQ people gather to find support, safety, community, and pride. A panel of architects who have designed recent projects focused on the LGBTQ community will discuss the design process for their work, including the cultural considerations and historical influences specific to designing space for this diverse community.

June 20: Walking Tour of the Stonewall Uprising
In honor of the 50th Anniversaries of the Stonewall Uprising and the Greenwich Village Historic District, join us for a walking tour of the Stonewall Uprising, led by special guests from Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

June 20: Tracing LGBTQ Spaces
In honor of the 50th anniversaries of both the Stonewall Uprising and the Greenwich Village Historic District, this evening, organized in collaboration with the NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project, will celebrate LGBTQ lives and histories amidst the built environment. The talk will reveal the significance behind facades and public spaces that we see and pass daily, adding an essential layer to the map of NYC.

June 27: Celebrating LGBTQ Spaces
Please join the AIANY Diversity and Inclusion Committee and FXCollaborative for a Pride Celebration at the FXCollaborative Gallery. Guests will enjoy snacks, cocktails, art, interactive exercises, entertainment, and the opportunity to celebrate this historic year for NYC Pride. FXCollaborative will also share the work being done by FXOne, their LGBTQ forum.
