Description
Join us in New York City as we welcome Chapell and Slyboots to The Cutting Room! Storytelling drives both Chapell’s writing and his live show.
Event Details
The New York-based singer/songwriter recounts real and raw stories throughout a prolific catalog of genre-agnostic songwriting.
Chapell's live show gushes earnestness and charm, streamed over 1.5 million times and counting and fresh off of a wildly successful tour with the Gin Blossoms. Chapell’s performances are gaining notoriety by the minute – having been invited to play with the likes of Everclear, Lisa Loeb, 38 Special, Bighead Todd, Iron Butterfly, Flock of Seagulls, and Jackopierce. Alan closed out 2021 with a performance on Rob Reinhart's wildly influential radio program, Acoustic Café.
In Alan Chapell’s own words, “More than ever, people want to feel like they genuinely belong to something. It’s similar to how you may go to church or yoga or whatever you might do with a group of people to feel the warmth of a community. For me, the goal is always to draw inspiration from the collective – whether it’s during a more intimate solo concert or with my entire five-piece band. I want each show to be a unique and collective experience.
Slyboots:
Slyboots’ unique yet cohesive sound can be attributed to their different tastes, but similar inspirations. Despite their wide-ranging influences: The Beatles, The Kinks, The Smiths, The Cure – their shared admiration for strong females that have paved the way, e.g., Talking Heads’ Tina Weymouth, Metric songwriter Emily Haines, and Tiffany’s favorite, Barbara Streisand, binds them together.
