Come meet other Catholic/Christian professionals while volunteering to make care kits for the homeless. A social will follow.
Event Details
The Catholic Fellowship of NYC is organizing a volunteer event to package Care Kits for the homeless in our community on Thursday November 29th at 6:30pm in the auditorium at Saint Jean Baptiste High School in Manhattan. After packaging the kits we will adjourn to The Supply House, an Upper East Side establishment for a drink and fellowship.
We will be making Care Kits - small bags with helpful items to give out to the homeless such as socks, band aids, protein bars, wipes, and toothpaste. The bags are small enough to fit in a backpack or purse, so you can carry them around and give one out when you see someone in need. We will make kits assembly line style with enough for everyone to take home a couple if they wish.
Most of the supplies will be provided, but we could use additional items. Please consider any travel size items. We ask if volunteers can make a donation by bringing the following items that the homeless are especially in need of:
- socks
- non-perishable food
- sunscreen
- gloves
- tissues
Please leave at home: mouthwash, hand sanitizer, and fragrant lotions or soap.

***Directions to Saint Jean Baptiste High School auditorium:*** Head to the main entrance at 173 E 75th Street. Buzz the bell next to the black door closest to Third Avenue with flower pots out front and follow signs to the auditorium. Ask for Maggie or Toan who are your hosts.
If your schedule doesn’t allow you to arrive by 6:30pm, we will gather at The Supply House around 7:30pm/7:45pm. At The Supply House, we will congregate around the bar area.
