Pitti opened in 1992 almost two decades after Silvano Marchetto joined the trattoria equation with a see-and-be-seen walkway setting at contiguous Da Silvano. Marchetto had at first thought about a more easygoing Pitti as a major aspect of an extension, yet a family catastrophe propelled him to enroll an accomplice, Giovanni Tognozzi.
