The Hewitt School was founded in 1920 just three months after women earned the right to vote in this country. We are committed to empowering the next generation of women leaders, one at a time—from the inside out. Hewitt is a girls' school by design. Our faculty and staff have an unwavering commitment to our mission to empower girls and young women. Our teachers draw from the latest research on how girls learn and thrive and put it to work in the classroom. Hewitt keeps the learning environment small. With a student to faculty ratio of 7:1, Hewitt nourishes a learning experience full of human interaction, with a culture of teaching and learning that is deeply collaborative and entrepreneurial.
