Description

George Washington was naturally introduced to a prosperous family on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was secretly taught and picked up involvement as a land surveyor, before joining the local army. He filled in as an officer in the French and Indian Wars from 1755-1758. In the wake of ascending to the rank of colonel, he surrendered his post and wedded Martha Dandridge (1731– 1802), returning as a courteous fellow agriculturist to the family estate at Mount Vernon, Virginia.
