Excuse My French is a little gem in the heart of the Lower East Side, over one of the most iconic streets of the “old” New York and parked across the street of the Tenement Museum. You will discover this small slip down the basement gastro pub that feels like a speakeasy but is so much more!
Step inside; enjoy our cozy 1920’s French look, with an eclectic artsy décor. We put equal detail and attention into food, service and atmosphere.
Paris-born chef Johann Giraud created a French tapas style menu that ranges from a classic cheese platter that includes our French baguette to tasty beef sliders with his “grand-ma” sauce; great vegetarian options as well like his sautéed Brussels Sprouts with almonds, cranberries and balsamic are a favorite among our guests.
Our cocktails are a tribute to the first half of the 20th century rescuing old French liquors and aperitifs that pair perfectly well with our tapas.
We are the kind of gastropub you want in your neighborhood
