Event Details

We are looking forward to welcoming you as we resume our 25th Season!

There is no pre-concert lecture for this event.

Renaissance Rome was a renowned center of music and art.
Thanks to the patronage of the Papacy, its magnificence was almost unequaled in 16th-century Europe.

The Sistine Chapel had the most famous choir, but other churches in Rome also had fine musical organizations. Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano, and the great Basilica Papale di San Pietro home of the renowned Cappella Giulia, all stand out for their musical excellence.
Composers like Josquin, Morales, Victoria, and of course Palestrina himself contributed to the musical wealth of these iconic institutions, leaving today’s music lovers a vast legacy, much of which is still sung today. Join us as we celebrate our return to the concert stage with the sumptuous music of these singularly accomplished composers.
Come and enjoy the music at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church on 2021-11-20
