THE ALT.OSCAR AWARDS EVENT & OSCAR VIEWING PARTY
Oscar Night - Sunday, February 24 | 7:00 PM - Midnight
The 9th annual ALT.OSCAR AWARDS & VIEWING PARTY arrives at the National Arts Club offering a night of glamor, costumes, Red Carpet interviews, Hollywood Oscar viewing and the infamous Alt.Oscar Awards Show. Developed by Costume Cultural Society and partnering with the Art & Tech, Film, and Young Members Committees, the Alt.Oscars are "New York's Answer to the Oscars where YOU are the Celebrity," with three primary elements including filmed Red Carpet Interviews, viewing of the Hollywood Academy Award ceremony, and the farcical Alt.Oscar Awards Show in the Grand Gallery. The Alt.Oscars advocate “participatory culture," where the velvet rope is open to all. Come in creative black tie or as any film character or pop-culture celebrity - or create your own! - for a chance to win an “Alty Award.” The Red Carpet and Awards are for those who make an effort in style, but all are welcome at this community-oriented Oscar Party.
