Description
New York Adventure Club | www.AdventureClub.com. Join New York Adventure Club for a culinary journey through the Upper East Side of Manhattan as we eat our way through a neighborhood packed with history, culture, and some of the city's tastiest eats.
Event Details
While New York City's Upper East Side typically invokes images of Gilded Age mansions and high-end fashion boutiques, it's also a foodie paradise...if you know where to look.
That's because its strong German and Italian immigrant roots gave rise to a host of classic culinary establishments, some of which are still open all these years later.
With the help of an expert food guide who grew up on the Upper East Side, it's time to explore the lesser-known food spots of this storied neighborhood.
Led by New York native and professional tour guide operator Alex Aguirre, our off-the-beaten-path culinary experience designed specially for an intimate group will include:
A curated food tour route through the Upper East Side highlighting the delicious cuisine found in one of the city's lesser-known neighborhoods.
The history of immigrants in the neighborhood with a heavy German influence and how their relocation shaped the food still present in the area today/
A walk down what was known as "Sauerkraut Boulevard" and stroll through Carl Schurz Park.
A nosh at several of the neighborhood's classic institutions, from a classic New York hot dog to freshly baked New York bagels.
A trip inside a few specialty markets, showcasing both the German and Italian influence on the neighborhood.
A small gift bag at the tour's conclusion to help remember the experience
