Event Details

We will delve into sound and vibration basics with relevance to healthcare facilities and will review current NYDOH requirements related to sound and vibration. We will discuss recent trends and research related to HCAHPS performance and job satisfaction. We will also discuss sound and vibration measurement equipment and techniques and ways of monitoring noise and vibration in healthcare facilities.

Speakers
John Lloyd
John Lloyd is an acoustician working with various projects involving educational, commercial, and residential facilities. His areas of concentration include architectural acoustics, mechanical systems noise and vibration control, and environmental acoustics. John received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University in 2013 and a Master of Science in Architectural Acoustics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2015. John has worked on a variety of high profile healthcare projects including the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Jay Bliefnick

 Jay Bliefnick recently joined Acentech as a full time acoustics consultant, after interning at our Cambridge headquarters for two summers during his PhD candidacy at the University of Nebraska. His experience includes consulting on architectural acoustics design and noise issues for a multitude of project types, including healthcare, performing arts, education, multi-family residential, retail, and research facilities. Jay received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Acoustics from Columbia College Chicago in 2014, a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering – Acoustics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2016, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Architectural Engineering-Acoustics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018.
